Zvika Tamuz, founder of Pegasus, our partner in Israel, rescued a beautiful grey donkey named Michaela from certain death. Found almost completely blind, terribly emaciated and with a broken leg, it was to everyone’s surprise that just a month after her rescue Michaela gave birth!
By rescuing Michaela Zvika had in fact saved two lives. But Michaela’s foal, which we at the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) have nicknamed Spindles, was born prematurely, before his legs had the chance to form properly. They began to collapse under his weight and twice a day, they are cast and bandaged to encourage them to straighten.
Spindles has been making progress, but still has a long way to go before he’s out of the woods. Please sign his virtual cast to send a message of support to Spindles and thank the Pegasus team for their dedication to helping all donkeys and horses in need.
